IFC Certification
We offer a range of
schemes designed to
provide confidence
that Fire Protection
products and systems
are installed correctly
to good standards of
workmanship and within
the scope of approval for
the specified product.
Installer
Certification
Schemes
Correct installation of fire protection products
is vital if they are to perform as intended and
provide the specified fire performance. Incorrect
installation can lead to non-performance,
premature failure, loss of insurance cover
and potential loss of life, property, stock and
business interruption.
SCHEME A
SCHEME B
The IFC Certification Quality Mark enables
installer companies to demonstrate the
quality of their installations.
The following is an indication of the wide
range of schemes currently available:
• Fire Sprinkler Systems
To be effective in preventing or controlling the
spread of fire, or for protection of structural
elements from the effects of fire, these
products need to be installed properly within
their approved field of application. Failure to
do so can compromise fire performance with
consequences for property, life, safety and
commercial risk.
Our installer certification schemes together
with our product certification provides
a robust system that gives confidence
to specifier’s, contractors, enforcement
authorities, regulators, and end users
that proven products, together with good
insulation, will achieve the required level of
fire performance.
• Fire Resistant Timber Doors
• Penetration, Linear Gap Seals
and Cavity Barriers
• Smoke Control Systems
• Structural Steelwork Fire Protection;
Boards, Sprays, Intumescent Coatings
The process involves auditing of an installer
company’s office and site based activities,
competence assessment of operatives and
supervisors and certificates of conformity.
